I had a Palm LifeDrive for like 3 weeks until I got sick of it and traded it in for a Treo650 and a 1GB SD card.

While the 4gb was nice, the thing was not as snappy even with SharkCache compared to all other palms INCLUDING my Palm IIIc from way back when and my wifes Clie T615c.

The screen was nice though and played videos nicely. But my new Treo650 can play videos nicely too and also has a great screen.

The LifeDrive TECHNICALLY only has 32mb of RAM that you don't use for storage, it is cache only. It has 64MB of program storage (you don't get all of it) that acts like RAM but is really on the HD.

It resets a lot more than most PalmOS5 PDA's .. and yes I went through 2 units because I thought it was flaw in first one.

So yeahh .... it was the worst Palm unit I have had. List of PDAs I have owned: Psion, Palm IIIx, Palm IIIc, Palm Vx, Sony Clie T615c, Casio Cassiopea, Sharp Zaurus SL5500??, iPAQ H5455, Palmone LifeDrive, Palmone Treo 650.

Out of ALL OF THOSE ... the one that ran applications THE SLOWEST has been the Cassiopea, iPAQ and LifeDrive with Lifedrive being the slowest.

Believe me you are not missing much.

Well then you are fine. You can search for LifeDrive reviews on the net and people say the same thing about the lag, and it is felt everywhere. Heck, this is why programs like SharkCache are even written!

But really though, aside from the tiny screen ... the Treo650 really does a very nice job. I just can't wait until the next one based on OS6 (Cobalt) comes out in a couple of years!
